2015 Award Winners

“The IoT challenge was an interesting one for us. The opportunity of being recognised in the IoT market outside of our traditional business was extremely important. It gave us the opportunity to develop our product into an IoT Platform that could be leveraged by the entire IoT community, so that is where we put all our effort.

The IoT Challenge was a bold one for MTN and it was great to be part of a new set of entrepreneurs all trying to get recognition for their ideas and efforts. We salute Melao Mashale and his team at MTN for having the insight and vision to enter into this market in such an engaging way.

We were humbled to be chosen as the overall winner and believe that we have the resources, products and solutions to meet any customers needs in the IoT space.

The event was well organised and as the winner we are really looking forward to working with both MTN and it’s own echo system partners to further develop the platform that in turn will allow them to deliver IoT solutions to their customer.” – Dave Wibberley, MD at Adroit Technologies.

“With regard to the awards evening, I believe it was well organised. All the stands looked professional and neat. And when the evening took off, the energy in the room was just refreshing. And there were so many people who were actually interested in knowing what the projects were about. Many of them were people who are also working on similar projects and it was good to exchange ideas with other developers. Even the SABC was also covering the event. The speakers were very inspirational and I am glad to have been there to hear all their stories and guidelines. I am proud to have been part of this competition. A big thank you to MTN and the other parties that made the competition a success.”

“IoT awards were a great platform for entrepreneurs to engage with MTN directly, and to get exposed to end-users needs. The challenge process took visibility of IoT in SA to a new level, amongst developers and end-users. The awards can be a real differentiator for MTN in getting new IoT services to market.”
